A DELEGATION from Ludlow’s Slow Food Group has returned from Italy.

They were visiting the largest fine food festival in the world, the Salone del Gusto in Turin.

The group included delegates to Terra Madre, an international meeting of food producers, which takes place alongside the Salone.

Ludlow’s delegation was made up of Nick Davis of Hobson’s Brewery, Peter Cook, of SC Price and son Bakers, Clive Davis, of the Green Cafe, Rose Lewis, of Ludlow Food Centre, and Beth Heath, of the Food Festival.

In addition, local perry producers had a stand at the festival, offering international visitors the opportunity to try local perry – which proved to be a new taste for most Italians.

“Everyone really valued the opportunity to share ideas with food producers and festival visitors from around the world,” said Sue Chantler, chair of Ludlow Marches Slow Food.

“The number of members who went from Ludlow illustrates how much energy and commitment local members bring to Slow Food – and its promotion of local, delicious and well-produced food.”
